Titrate

A word ladder, one a day. Start on one word from the unit and get to another, changing one letter a rung. Every rung has to be a real word. Par is the shortest path, and the machine knows it. The clock starts when you type.

Practice gives an unlimited supply of pairs, ordinary words both ends, par four to seven. The daily is the one that counts: the streak is the run of days on which the day's ladder was finished without a hint.

Progress stays in this browser. Any four-letter word in the dictionary is a legal rung; par only leans on the common ones.

To titrate a drip is to nudge the rate a step at a time until the numbers come right.
